Objective To investigate the situation of pharmaceutical therapy for AMI in Taigang area, and provide information for further clinical practice. Methods The data of 4-year (1999-2002)in-patient cases in Taigang hospital was used for the study.SAS 8.0 software was used for statistics and analysis. Results The total of MI in-patient cases( 1999-2002) in Taigang area was 229.The total MI drug used- rate was :p-blocker 50%,ACEI/ARB 66%,tatin 5%,N 98%,asprin 93% respectively. The β -blocker used-rate per year was 1999-28%, 2000-56%, 2001-54%, 2002-47%.The ACEI/ARB used-rate per year was 1999-70%, 2000-71%, 2001-68%, 2002-47%.The proportion of β -blocker was :metoprolol 71%,atenolol 35%.The proportion of ACEI /ARB was:captopril 96%,enalapril 3%.The mean dose of metoprolol(Md) was 36mg/d( range6.25-200mg/d),the mean dose of captopril(Md) was 35mg/d(range6.25-150mg/d).The main reason of unused (3-blocker was sinus bradycardia, unused with no reason, sever hart faliure,AV block, etc. The mainreason of unused ACEI/ARB was hypotension, unused with no reason, etc. Conclusions The P -blocker used- rate had prompted in 1999-2002(p<0.05 p=0.0141= .The ACEI /ARE used-rate was steady in 1999-2001,but droped in 2002(p>0.05 p=0.0885),without statistical signification. The lower tatin used- rate was due to lack of knowledge. The most frequent p-blocker was metoprolol; The most frequent ACEI/ARB was catopril, that hadn't changed to enalapril. The mean dose of metoprolol was a bit lower than the instruction in our country. The mean dose of captopril was fit to the instrction in our country. The unused-rate of (3-blocker without any reason was 23%,the unused- rate of ACEI /ARE without any reason was 35%.So the rational drug use in MI patients should be given more concern .
