| Objective: To asses the association of fatty liver, serum lipid levels, insulin resistance, sex, body mass index with serum leptin in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: one hundred and eight inpatients were divided into two groups according to type B ultrasonic checkup results: diabetic fatty liver group(DFL) and diabetes without nonalcoholic steatohepatitis group(DNF).Their weight and height were measured. Total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL),apoA,apoB,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting true insulin(FTI),postprandial true insulin(PTI),and fasting serum leptin(LEP) were also measured. ISI=1/(FPG×FTI) as insulin sensitivity index were used analyse the relation between leptin and insulin resistance. Results: 1,Incidence rate of DFL of diabetic inpatients was 43.6%. 2,The serum leptin, body mass index serum lipid levels,FTI and PTI were significantly higher in DFL group than DNF group. ISI was significantly lower in DFL group than DNF group. 3,Female serum leptin levels were significantly higher than male serum leptin levels in DFL group and DNF group. 4,Multiple linear regression proved that serum leptin was correlated with sex, body mass index,FTI,TG and ISI. Serum leptin wasn't correlated with fatty liver,FPG,TC,HDL,LDL,apoA and apoB. Conclusin:Serum leptin levels were significantly higher in type 2 diabetes with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, while Serum leptin hasn't directly corrected with fatty liver. Serum leptin is through hyperinsulinmia, insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia to afffect nonalcoholic steatohepatitis in patients with type 2 diabetes . |
