| Objective To investigate correlations between expression of MMP-2, TGF β 1 and MVD and clinical biological characteristics in colonrectal carcinoma. Methods The expression of MMP-2, TGF' β , and MVD in paraffin-embeded specimens from 60 patients with primary invasive colonrectal carcinoma were detected by the standard streptavidin biotin peroxides methods and their correlation to clinicalpathologic feathers wene analysed. Results Among 60 cases, the positive expression rate of MMP-2 and TGF β1 were 56.7%(34/60), 34.3%(26/60);the mean MVD of all patients was 46.6 i: 20.8 per 200 X microscopic field. Expression of MMP-2 ,TGF β 1 were higher in patients with lymph node metastasis, lower histological grades ,distant metastasis than in patients with no lymph node metastasis, higher histological grades, no distant metastasis group.(P<0.05).Increased MVD was associated with bigger tumor size, lower tumor grade, higher lymph node metastasis, higher distant metastasis and poorer prognosis(P<0.05).Introtumor angiogenesis may have a relationship to the expression of MMP-2, TGF β1 patients with higher expression of MMP-2, TGF β1 have a higher MVD. Conclusion MMP-2, TGF β1 play important roles in colonrectal carcinoma procession, especially in tumor's metastasis. MMP-2 and TGF β1 have intimate relationship with MVD. |
