| Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of the predominant bacterial colonization on burn wound in our department, so as to help select optimal prophylaxis and cure methods in burn patients with infections. Methods: The bacteria culture of secretions from burn wounds in our unit of years 2000-2004. The correlation data were compared with those of years 1990- 1994. Results: The infective rate of gramnegative bacteria is increased, whereas the rate of grampositive bacteria is decreased. Pseudomonas aeruginosa took the first place in gramnegative bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus was the most often detected gram-positive bacteria. At the same time, the proportions of Enterobacter cloacae and Acinetobacter aggrandized in pathogens dramatically. Conclusion: The antibiotic administration may be the one of the key factors to result in the change in species of pathogens. It is important to consider the species of pathogens and their variety trends in burn unit for infection prophylaxis and treatment. |
