Objective: The purpose of the study was to compare the effect of the patients undergoing IVF-ET using intramuscular progesterone as luteal support with the patients using intramuscular progesterone plus Allylestrenol tablets.Method: we retrospective analyzed the results of the ninety-five patients undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET) , divided them into two groups randomly depending on the different luteal phase support methods. Group A: fifty-three patients, we gave them intramuscular progesterone 40mg Bid as luteal phase support two days after retrieving oocytes . Group B: forty-two patients ,we gave them intramuscular progesterone 40mg qd + Allylestrenol tablets 5mg Tid two days after retrieving oocytes. We compared the age , the dose of FSH and HMG ,the oocytes that we retrieved , the number of the embryo and the time when we used gonadotrophin(Gn), no fertility differences were found. Results: There were no statistically significant differences between theimplantation rate, the pregnancy rate and the abortion rate of the two groups ,P>0.05.Conclution: Our findings suggest that the two projects has the same effect on the results of the patients undergoing IVF-ET. The intramuscular progesterone + Allylestrenol tablets used in this study provides well-tolerated and convenient luteal support in women undergoing IVF-ET.on the other hand ,the simple intramuscular progesterone is more cheaper than intramuscular progesterone + Allylestrenol tablets.
