Both barium enema and colonoscopy cant provide staging information . However, accurate staging not only leads to choose the best cure but also knows the patient's future . Preoperative SCT was used in colorectal carcinoma since the 1980s . It improves traditional examinations. But diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma by SCT cant reach satisfaction. MSCT scans quickly, which decrease the affect of intestine action and improves the image of CT. MSCT is not invade used in colonopathy, which is focused by all over the world. There are some reports that MSCT was used in staging diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma by rectal air or water enema recently. Its accuracy increases than before, which shows that MSCT is an effective method.PurposeWatch and think the image of preoperative CT with rectal air insufflation, then staging depended on the Dukes'classification of staging. The conclusions were compared with those of surgical and pathological examination, then detected the value and confine of the preoperative CT staging.
