| Objective: To investigate the change and significance of synovial fluid protein in knee joint with osteoarthritis. Methods: Proteins were measured in synovial fluid samples from 35 patients, 45 to 65 years old including five males and thirty females, with osteoarthritis (OA) and from 4 normals, 24 to 34 years old including three males and a female, by using ProteinChip? Array-Time of Flight massspectrograph (TOFMS).Results: Strictly choose two synovial fluid samples from normals. The mark number is Chi p 10-A and Chip 10-B. Strictly choose two synovial fluid samples from patients with osteoarthritis. The mark number is Chip 10-C and Chip 10-D. Under the condition of the cat ionic ProteinChip? Array, a protein hump appears at 15979.8+H and 15977.7+H ,between 15000 and 20000 molecular weight (Unit: +H), in experimental group, but not appears in control group. Conclusion: The first data in experimental group is closed to the second. There is no markedly difference with the two data in statistics. We consider it a kind of protein or a group of proteins. The contrast between the experimental group and control group is all or not. There is a great contrast with the two groups in statistics. It shows that there is a kind of special protein in synovial fluid of patient's knee joint with osteoarthritis and not in the health. Therefore, the conclusion is not a concept of the quantitative change, but the qualitative change. |
