[Objective]To discuss the influence of serum pepsinogen and it's subgroups (PG Ⅰ , PG Ⅱ) with CA72-4 on early diagnostis and postoperative recurrence and to evaluate the effects on diagnosis andprognosis in gastric cancer patients . [Methods] Radioimmunoassay was applied to detect the levels of serum PG Ⅰ, PG Ⅱ and CA72-4 on gastric cancer and other stomach disease, compared those with the normal control group. The result were analyzed by statistics method. [Results] Comparing healthy controls with gastric cancer(GC) and it's different stages cases, the serum PG levels of GC patients were significantly lower than those of control groups(p<0.01), the early gastric cancer had showed apparent changes (p<0.05), and advanced GC were even lower.(p<0.01). CA72-4 concertration in early stage gastric cancer had no differentce to the healthy one apparently. Otherwise Those were higherly significantly in advanced GC.The serum PG Ⅰ, PGⅡ and CA72-4 levels were changed differently afer the operation(p<0.01). The serum level of PG decreased grossly in the patients underwent radical total gastrectomy, but PG Ⅰ, PGⅡ and CA72-4 were elevated remarkably in the recurrent patients.Besides CA72-4,the serum levels of PG Ⅰ, PG Ⅱ had not altered dramaticly in the relapsed radical subtotal gastrectomy patients,. Those combinated procesures showed much more specificity to apply.[Conclusion] Detecting the serum levels of pG Ⅰ , PG Ⅰ/ Ⅱ should be used to screen, early·gastric cancer . . If tcombine the CA72-4 detection, thesemethods should be modified more sensitively and specificly, and applied to observe may significantly improve sensibitity and to the postoperative recurrence.
