The antifibrotic effect of pirfenidone has been demonstrated in several animal models of fibrosis for different organs. In order to provide new data on safety of non- clinical studies of pirfenidone and references data of its clinical application, the acute toxicity effects in mice, rats and Beagle dogs,long-term toxicity effects in Beagle dogs & rats, general pharmacology in mice and rats, the acute phototoxicity effects in mice and the photosensitivity effects (photoallergic effects) in Cavia procellus of Pirfenidone were studied. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | pirfenidone, non-clinical safety evaluation, acute toxicity, long-term toxicity, general pharmacology, mice, rats, dog, acute phototoxicity, photosensitivity, Cavia procellus, Beagle dogs, LD50 | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
