Objective To investigate the expression features and clinicalsignificance of urokinse-type plasminageon activator in humangliomas. Methods We retrospectively studied the presence anddistribution of uPA protein by immunohistochemical methods in 71cases of human brain gliomas and 5 cases of normal brain tissue.Their relation to clinical data was also comparatively analyzed. Results All glioma tissues expressed uPA protein, the levelwas high accompanied with its mlignant degree, and the distributionwas not well. The level of uPA protein was not seen in normal braintissue. The level of uPA protein in high-grade glioma was higher thanthose in low-grade glioma(P<0.05);the level of uPA protein in thelow-grade glioma was considerably higher than those in the normalbrain tissue(P < 0.05) ; significant difference was also observedbetween the primary glioma and the secondary glioma(P<0.05).Regression analyze shows the level of uPA protein is positivecorrelate to the malignant progression of gliomas. Survival analyze...
