Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a frequent and severe complication in cirrhotic patients with ascites. The reason of the SBP is the bacteria which result in disease can cause the infection through the abdominal, blood, and limph system. SBP also is one of the important reason which can make the patients dead. In recent 10 years, with the development of early diagnostic and treatment, SBP-related mortality rate decrease, but in hospital, the rate is 20%~40% still. The Multistix10SG test is based on the esterase activity of granulocytes. 3-Hydroxy-5-phenyl-pyrrole esterified with an amino acid as the substrate.
