| Objective Analyzing the relationship between the character of invasion and metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) and the expressions of VEGF-C, c-Met, cyclin D1,to explore their value in clinic. Methods The clinical, pathologic and follow-up information of patients with PTC from March 1980 to January 2004 in department of head and neck, Tianjin cancer hospital was collected and reviewed. The PTCs were divided into more aggressive PTC (APTC) and usual PTC (UPTC). They were divided into two groups according to with/without lymph node metastasis after surgical operation that belonged to stage N0 before operations. 30 cases of benign tumors and 15 cases of follicular carcinomas were included as control. The different expressions of VEGF-C, c-Met, cyclin D1 in different groups were investigated. Results Of the PTC's age, gender, tumor size, cervical lymph node metastasis, lung metastasis and multiple tumor foci ,the expressions of c-Met were related to PTC's extrathyroidal invasion(p=0.001)and lymph node metastasis(p<0.05).The expression of c-Met was significant higher in APTC than UPTC. The expression of cyclin D1 was related to cervical lymph node metastasis (p<0.05), but no significant relationships were found in other parameters. And its expression was significant high in PTC of clinical stage N0 with lymph node metastasis. VEGF-C... |
