| Objective: To evaluate percutaneous puncture and sclerotherapy guide by ultrasound and laparoscopic unroofing in the treatment of simple renal cysts. Methods: 45 patients with simple renal cysts were operated using sclerotherapy in 24 and laparoscopy in 21. The operation procedure, complications, clinical effectiveness, post-operative recovery and expenditure of these two groups were compared. Results: There is no effectiveness difference between sclerotherapy group and laparoscopic unroofing group , P>0.05(P=0.505) . No complications were happened in group of sclerotherapy. the incidence of complications in laparoscopy group was 19%(4 / 21). Patients recovered more quickly in sclerotherapy group than in laparoscopy, and the expenditure was lower. The mean hospitalization day number of sclerotherapy was 10, the group of laparoscopy was 16. When after operations, the mean hospitalization day number of group sclerotherapy was 3, the group of laparoscopy was 10 ,P<0.01.Conclusion: percutaneous sclerotherapy guide by ultrasound has the same therapeutic effect as laparoscopic unroofing with minimal invasive, less suffering and complications , quicker recovery and smallerexpenditure, and even can be easy done without hospitallizaton. It should be the first choice to treat with simple renal cysts. |
