Objective:To study the clinical effects and possible mechanism of "Xie Re Hua Tan Fang". Methods:During clinical research,60 cases were randomly divided into testing group and contrasting group(30 cases each group). There were 2 phases in one period of treatment amounting to 21days.Some indexes including hemorheology indexes, blood lipids and safe indexes were examined, at the same time,we examined the mind, language and movement function. After reproducing the model of phlegm-heat syndrome,we examined how Xie Re Hua Tan Fang effected ICAM-1 expression of Wistar rat of cerebral ischemic stroke .Result: Xie Re Hua Tan Fang can not only improve patient's functions, but also shorten the time of phlegm-heat syndrome dispearance and obviously improve the clinic symptoms. When dealing with statistics, P<0.05,It shows testing group is better than contrasting group.Experiment indicates, Xie Re Hua Tan Fang can restrain the expresstion of ICAM-1,and distinctly lighten the symptoms caused by cerebral infarction and reperfusion damage,so it is good at cerebral protection. Conclusions: Xie Re Hua Tan Fang is obviously effective on the treatment of cerebral ischemic stroke with phlegm-heat syndrome.
