Objective To compare the effect of total intravenous anaesthesia(TIVA) with target-controlled infusion (TCI) of propofol versus isoflurane on the liver function of patients with portal hypertension of hepatocirrhosis. Methods Twenty-two ASA Ⅱ~Ⅲpatients with portal hypertension of hepatocirrhosis ( 17male, 5female) aged 27-68 yr undergoing elective splenectomy and pericardial devascularization were randomly divided into two groups: group T and group I. In group T (TCI of propofol) anaesthsia was induced with propofol by TCI with the target plasma concentration of propofol 2.5 μg/mg and maintained with TCI of propofol .The target plasma concentration of propofol was adjusted according to the index of hemodynamics. In group I ( inhalation of isoflurane) anaesthsia was induced with propofol 1.5-2.0mg/kg and maintained with inhalation of isoflurane. The concentration of isoflurane inhalated was adjusted according to the index of hemodynamics. Comparasion were made between preoperative and postoperative AST, ALT and CHE respectively.
