| Background and aims: The research for single prognostic factorin breast cancer has often produced conflicting. Therefore, prognostic index, which has been compiled by combining severalparameters could assess prognosis more accurately. We can givetherapy to individuals with the help of it. Methods: A total of 1496women with histological proven primary invasive breast cancer whohad been treated with mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissectionat Tian jin Cancer hospital in Tian jin Medical University between1989 and 1994 and had been selected for our studies had been followedup for 10 years. Their data were retrospectively reviewed. Set upoverall survival prognostic index models and disease-free survivalprognostic index models based on the groups of total patients (groupA) , patients with node metastasis (group B) and patients with nodemetastasis who had been treated with Halsted or Patey operation(group C) respectively and construct them . Univariate analysis(Coxmodel) and multivariate analysis (Cox model) were used to getprognostic indexes. Result: The overall survival prognostic indexmodel of group A =0. 4 X age+0. 51 X skin+0. 11 X tumor size+0. 06 Xnumber of node metastsis+0. 34Xhistological type; The disease-freesurvival prognostic index model of group A =0.54×age+0.57×skin+0.12 × tumor size+0.06×number of node metastsis-0.49×histological type +0.45 × extra capsular extension; The overallsurvival prognostic index model of group B=0.51 × skin+0.09×tumor... |
