Sibiraea angustata(Rehd.)Hand.-Mazz. , from Sibiraea Maxim. Genus of Rosaceae Family, is a Tibetan crude drug called "Liu-Cha". The officinal parts are its leaves and young limbs which are used to cure dyspepsia and stomach-ache. Recently, the pharmacological researches have shown that its crude extracts exert various physiological effects. To better develop and utilize this plant, my paper has focused on the research of chemical ingredients and quality evaluation. In the aspect of chemical study, by means of GC-MS, the essential oil from both the male and the female plants have been separate and identified. 44 from 50 and 43 from 46 chemical constituents have been identified respectively in male and female plants, such proportion is more than 90%. Theconcentrated extracts of 70% ethanol was distributed by water, extracted by petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate. Through repetitive normal or low pressure silica column chromatography and recrystallization, 10 compounds were isolated from the extraction of the plant and identified on the basis of spectral data. One of them is a new compound. 6 compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.In aspect of quality evaluation, caffeic acid, ferulic acid and isoferulic acid which exert various physiological effects were chose to be target compounds to carry on identical and quantitative study. Employed TLC as an effective analytical way, the identical analysis has been accomplished by comparing the Rf of the organic acids with the Rf of the extraction from sample. Quantitative study is used HPLC to determine the contents of these acids . The result is that the content of caffeic acid is 0.117mg/g, ferulic acid is O.3O5mg/g, and isoferulic acid is 0.962mg/g.
