Objective: To explore the changes and its clinic significance in cTnT compared with CK, CK-MB and LDH for severe burned patients in the period of shock. Methods: Blood samples of ten patients with severe burn and eight traumatic cases with skeletal muscle were simultaneously taken at 24,48,72 hours. CK, CK-MB , LDH and cTnT was quantitatively measured. Meanwhile, the healthy control group was observed and the data were analysed by the methods of statistics. Results: The nine patient's serum levels of cTnT in the ten cases with severe burn were significantly increased and obviously higher than control group (p<0.01) and trauma group with skeletal muscle (p<0.01).Although the serum levels of CK, CK-MB and LDH in all cases were beyond normal , no significance difference was found in them. Conclusion: There was myocardial injury for severe postburn patients in the period of shock.. As a reliable index, cTnT can be used to diagnose and estimate myocardial injury after severe burn because of its higher specificity and sensitivity than that of CK, CK-MB and LDH.
