The Clinical Research On Repairing Soft Tissues Defect In Anterior Side Of Tibia By Transposing Medial Head Of Gastrocnemius Muscle Musculo-cutaneous Flap

Objective: To review result of treating soft tissue defect of anterior side of tibia by transposing vascularized muscle flap of medial head of gastrocnemius muscle.Method: 37 cases of soft tissue defects of leg were repaired by transposing vascularized muscle flap of medial head of gastrocnemius muscle. The muscle flap included mono-pedicel flap, bi-pedicel flap, crossing medial head of gastrocnemius muscle musculo-cutaneous flap.Result: All the tissue-flaps were survived without relapse of inflammation, sinus and ulcer. Bone healing occurred 4-6 months after operations.Conclusion: Repairing soft tissue defect by transposing vascularized muscle flap of medial of gastrocnemius muscle is easy and convenient to perform in short duration of treatment and good result.
