| Objective To investigate the chemical constituents and their antineoplastic activities of marine sponge Stelletta tenuis Lindgren and Callyspongia sp. collected from South China Sea. Methods Active compounds were screened by bioassay-guided method, and isolated by a combination of partition and purification with suitable solvent and multiple column chromatographies. Structures were determined on the basis of spectral analysis. Results Forty-two compounds were isolated from the sponge Stelletta tenuis Lindgren and Callyspongia sp., and the antineoplastic activities of some compounds were tested on tumor cell lines. Conclusion All of these compounds except 1 and 11 were isolated from this two sponges for the first time, five of which are new. Compound 1-10 show strong cytotoxity against human tumor cell lines A549, SMMC-7721, AGS and HT-29, which deserve to be further investigated. |
