In the process of modernization of TCM, fingerprinting technique had proved its superiority on the quality control of TCM and it also has the feature to meet the theory of Chinese medical science and are to be the best technique to control the herbs and natural drugs. It also became one of the technique to improve the modernization of TCM quality standard. Now, the work on the fingerprinting are the hot spot of modernization of TCM.According to the studing situation of TCM fingerprinting, the defection on multi-dimension fingerprinting and fingerprint evaluation are studied with RHIZOMA ANEMARRHENAE as the studing object. The multi-dimension fingerprinting of the herb and its evaluation methods were studied. Many different batch of RHIZOMA ANEMARRHENAE was collected and the pretreatment method, chromatographic method are investagted. The determation method of xanthone compounts and Timosapoins are acquired with two chromatography to show two type of compounts with the different detecting feature. UV detection got the determation results of xanthone compounts and ELSD detection got the results of Timosapoins. The method was firstly stablished to assay the six compounts and the pretreatment method are easy and effective.Multi-dimension fingerprinting could resolve the limitation of one detection mode. Through the common chromatographic method, the DAD, ELSD and MSD detection type of fingerprinting of RHIZOMA ANEMARRHENAE are abtained and the similarity evaluation of them are applied. Combined the UV, ELSD and TIC information, the multi-dimension character are established. Aim the defection of multi-index evaluation of Multi-dimension fingerprinting, the multi-fusion fingerprinting are raised firstly. Through the weighted simlarilty, the three simlarilty results are fused to one result.The defection of simlarilty evaluation on the TCM quality control are studied. Pattern recognition are used to evaluate the DAD and ELSD detection fingerprinting. The evaluation result of simlarilty, cluster analysis and PCA was compared. The evalutation result proved the simlarilty method did have the limitation and PCA method could give the better results.LC-MSn was applied to study the unknown stubstances in RHIZOMA ANEMARRHENAE. Though the obtained schizolysis regularity of xanthone compounents and Timosapoins, the structres of unknown compounts are deduced. According to the outcome of the topic, the business standard was established .
