Objection: To Investigate the relationship of basic serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) level and the number of retrieved oocytes on laboratory and clinical outcome of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Method: 180 cycles of IVF-ET were analyzed retrospectively. Compared the age, fertilization rate, cleavage oocytes rate, advanced embryoes rate and pregnancy rate by different FSH level and the number of retrieved oocytes. Result: The age, gonadotropin doses, gonadotropin days, cleavage oocytes rate, pregnancy rate and number of transferred embryoes by different FSH level have no statistical significance(P>0.05); In FSH>8.78 IU/L group the number of retrieved oocytes have more than the other groups(p<0.05), while fertilization rate and advanced embryoes have less than the other groups (p<0.05). The number of retrieved oocytes were decreased with the gain of patient's age and rise of the FSH level. The fertilization rate, cleavage oocytes rate, advanced embryoes rate, pregnancy rate and OHSS rate have statistical significance(p<0.05) by different the number of retrieved oocytes .The fertilization rate was highest in the number of retrieved oocytes<5 group and lowest in the number of retrieved oocytes>15 group. The cleavage oocytes rate and advanced embryoes rate were both highest in the number...
