| Objective: To evaluate the left ventricular function with technology of FIESTA in patients with mitral stenosis of rheumatic heart disease.Materials and Methods: Patients were divided into two groups: 1. Thirty-four cases of mitral stenosis including 7 males and 27 females, age between 18-54 and the mean age 37.4±9.2. Patients'history of RHD is 3-27 years and the mean history is 17.2 years. MRI examination was taken in 20 cases of mitral stenosis both 3 days before operation of PBMV and 3-7 days after operation of PBMV respectively. The 20 cases include 4 males and 16 females with the mean age of 39.6±8.5 years. 2. Twenty cases of normal control group include 5 males and 15 females, age 23-52 years and mean age 31.80±10.24 years. All cases were taken cine -FIEASTA sequences by GE Signa 1.5T EXCITE MR unit. MRI of the heart was gotten in short axis (two chamber view). The shapes of endocardium of left ventricular short axis were described in AW4.2 workstation (papillary muscle was not included in blood pool). Parameters of global function was measured by software of Mass Analysis Plus V4.0. All data was analyzed in statistical software package of SPSS 13.0 for Windows. Data of mitral stenosis group before and after operation of PBMV was compared by Paired-Samples T-Test. Data of control group and mitral stenosis group before PBMV was compared by Independent-Samples T-Test. The correlation between MVA and PFR 3 to 7 days after PBMV, and the correlation between MVA and TPFR 3 days after PBMV was analyzed by linear correlative analysis. P<0.05 was regarded as statistic significance. Results:Thirteen patients (38.24%) were found decreased left ventricular... |
