Objective To investigate the protective effect of aminoguanidine (a selective inhibition for iNOS) on MODS induced by zymosan in mice. Method Forty healthy KuMing male mice were randomly divided into four groups, each group have ten mice. Group N was treated with intrapeitioneally (i.p). with vihecle (saline) and served as a sham group for AG.Group Z was treated with zymosan (500mg/kg, suspended in saline solution, i.p). The mice in group NA and group ZA received AG (15mg/kg) 1h and 6h after saline or zymosan adminstration, respectively. after the administration of zymosan, Eighteen hours later, the blood of mice was obtained by extirpating their eyes, then they were killed. At the same time, their livers, lungs, kideys were taken out. The concentration of NO,ALT,CK,Cr were detected in blood serum, and the content of MDA,the activity of SOD,GSH-PX were detected in livers, At last, the little part of livers, lungs, kideys were observed histologically. In another set of experiments, animals (n = 10 for each group) were divided randomly into four groups (as described previously) and monitored for loss of body weight, mortality rate and Clinical Scoring of Systemic Toxicity for 10 days after zymosan or saline administration. Results The blood serum level of NO,ALT,CK,Cr and the liver content of MDA in group Z were obviously higher than group N(p<0.01), the liver activity of SOD,GSH-PX in group Z were obviously lower than group N(p<0.01);The blood serum level of NO,ALT,CK,Cr and the liver content of MDA in group ZA were obviously lower than group Z(p<0.01), The blood serum level of CK in group ZA were lower than group Z(p<0.05),The liver activity of SOD,GSH-PX in group ZA were obviously higher than group...
