Relationship Between The Polymorphism Of Lipoprotein Lipase Gene And Serum Lipid Levels In The Guangxi Hei Yi Zhuang Population

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the polymorphism of lipoprotein lipase gene Pvuâ…¡and serum lipid levels in the Guangxi Hei Yi Zhuang population.Methods: A total of 225 people of Hei Yi Zhuang nationality aged from 9 to 80 years were surveyed by cluster sampling. There were 107 males and 118 females. Blood pressure, height, weight, serum levels of lipids and apolipoproteins were measured. The genotypes and allele frequency of lipoprotein lipase gene Pvuâ…¡site were determined by polymerase chain reaction combined with restriction fragment lenghth polymorphism method, and the relationship between the genotypes of lipoprotein lipase gene Pvuâ…¡site and serum lipid levels were also analyzed. The results were compared with those in 231 matched people of Han nationality who also live in that district.Results: (1) The levels of serum total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and apolipoprotein (Apo) B in Hei Yi Zhuang were significantly lower than those in Han (P<0.05~0.01), while the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and the ratio of Apo A1 to Apo B in Hei Yi Zhuang were significantly higher than those in Han (P<0.01 and <0.05; respectively).
