Background: Proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) is the most serious disease to blindness in the clinic, especially, it is the primary reason of redetattchment after retinopexy. Its Pathology is clearly, characterized by the development of epi-and subretinal fibrocellular membranes containing modified retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells. Though vitrectomy has changed our approach to posterior segment disease, can it prevent proliferative vitreoretinopathy scar forming, remains an unsolved problem. Numerous laboratory studies on the pharmacologic treatment of PVR have been carried out. However , the clinical usefullness of these drugs - reflected by preventing or significantly reducing proliferation in operations is unknown.Purpose: To assess the efficacy and safety of adjunctive IH764-3 during vitrectomy surgery in eye with proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Methods: Thirty-one eyes (31 patients,21 male,10 female) with retinal detachment complicated with stage C2(Retina Society Classification, 1983) or more advanced preoperative PVR and traumatic retina detachment from April of 2004 to January of 2005.A11 patients were enrolled randomized in two...
