| Background and objectives: The treatment of ventricular tachycardia (VT) related to organic heart diseases included drug therapy, implanting implantable cardiac defibrillator, radiofrequence catheter ablation, cardiac surgery and so on. However, every method above had its limitations in dealing with VT. In recent years, radiofrequency catheter ablation of hemodynamic tolerance sustained VT related to organic heart diseases had a great improvement and achieved a high success rate. However, for catheter ablation of VT with multiple morphologies, hemodynamic intolerance VT, or noninducible VT, the traditional mapping systems and techniques had some limitations. With the presence of the electroanatomic mapping system (CARTO), substrate mapping and ablation of VT related to organic heart diseases became feasible. Using this new mapping system, the scar myocardium and the critical isthmus of the VT reentrant circuit could be identified by activation mapping, bipolar voltages mapping, pace mapping and some potentials mapping (diastolic potential, fractional potential, late potential). It's reported that radiofrequency catheter ablation of VT directed by CARTO system had a high success rate and a low recurrence. The purpose of this study was to identify the accuracy of CARTO electroanatomic voltage mapping in determining scar myocardium size and location, to understand the lesion size in scar myocardium using cooled-tip radiofrequency catheter, and to define the efficacy of mapping and ablation of VT related to organic heart diseases by using CARTO system. Methods:â‘´Animal study: A dog model of healed myocardial... |
