Relationship Between VEGF-C Expression And Lymphatic Metastasis In Colon Cancer Organization

Purpose: Lymphatic metastasis is a main and prevalent pathway of metastasis in colon cancer. It has been identified by considerable clinical studies that the life span of the patient with colon cancer is closely related with the lymphatic metastasis of the tumor cell. Expounding the way of lymphatic metastasis of colon cancer would provide theoretical significance for effective theraputic strategy. The mechanism of tumour lymphogenesis and its affection to metastasis are emphasized currently following the research of tumour angiogenesis, scince it has been verified that angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis play important roles in the pathologic change of malignant tumour metastasis. Vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGF-C),also called lymphangiogenesis factors, played a key role in promoting lymphangiogenesis after combined with vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3. It is well known that increased expression of VEGF-C is closely related to the lymphatic metastasis in most tumour tissue, but known little about the relationship between VEGF-C expression and lymphatic metastasis in colon cancer.
