Magnetic induction tomography, a contactless impedance imaging technique, measures the conductivity of bio-tissues under the principle of eddy current inspection, which uses the high frequency magnetic field to measure the conductivity of bio-tissues, aiming at reconstructing the distribution of conductivity of the inner tissues and detecting the variation of conductivity caused by physiological or pathological reasons. Besides the common advantage of EIT, such as harmlessness, convenience and small in type, MIT technique is sensitive to the center position of the imaging region, which makes MIT very prospective in imaging the inner tissues. Because MIT uses the magnetic field as the media in measurement and the magnetic field can go through the skull easily, the negative effects of skull with high impedance are avoided. The contactless way of MIT makes it very prospective in medical measurement, especially in detecting the pathological changes in the skull.In this article, we design and establish a 16-channel MIT experimental system.
