The chemical constituents of the dried tubers of Pinella ternate (Thunb.)Breit and the bark of Juglans regia were researched. Twelve compounds were separated by column chromatography on silica and purified by recrystallization, preparative TLC on silica gel GF254 from the ethanol extracts of P. ternate. Ten compounds were identified as β-sitosterol, daucosterol, succinic acid, 4-aminobutyric acid, alanine, palmitic acid, palmitic amide, hentriacontane, triacontanoic acid, 2-hydroxyhexacosanoic acid by spectroscopic analysis, such as IR, 1H-NMR, EI-MS. Alanine, 4-aminobutyric acid were isolated from this plant for the first time. Palmitic amide was found and isolated from this plant for the first time.Seven compounds were isolated from the bark of Juglans regia by column chromatography on silica and polyamide gel. Three compounds were determined as triacontanoic acid, gallic acid,β-sitosterol by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, EI-MS methods. The biologically activity of partial compounds which isolated from two plants and crude extracts of the bark of Juglans regia. The result is that crude extracts of the bark of Juglans regia possess better activities against K562 and A549 ( at 0.2 mg/mL ). Gallic acid against KS62 (64.78% at 0.02 mg/mL) . Compound HT-12 against K562 and A549 (88.32% and 65.77% at 1×10-5 mol/L respectively) . It possesses significant anticancer activity. Compound HT-12 may be one of anticancer constituents of the bark of Juglans regia.
