Background: Medulloblastomas are common cerebral malignant tumors in children, and have a tendency to disseminate, or spread throughout the craniospinal axis and occasionally outside the neuraxis. As a result, patients with medulloblastoma usually have bad and short lives. Although operation have a critical role in medulloblastoma's comprehensive therapy, the outcomes of the patients with medulloblastomas are not good. So it is important to study the mechanism of oncogene and progression of medulloblastoma, and how to prevent and treat medulloblastoma. Objective: PCNA, Skp2, Ezrin, the products of unclear genes, are the indexes of the proliferation and invasivision of tumor cells, and also are important basement that these genes are overexpressed. To determine the relationship among the expression of PCNA, Skp2, Ezrin and the prognosis of medulloblastoma, we use them for treatment and prognosis indexes about medulloblastoma.Method: 51 cases of medulloblastoma, 10 cases of acoustic neurolomas and 1 case of normal cerebellar tissue were studied via a combination of immunohistochemical staining in formalin fixed paraffin-embeded sections, and we analyed the result of immunohistochemical staining and determined the relationship among PCNA, Skp2, Ezrin proteins expressed in medulloblastoma. Results: (1) Our results showed that PCNA, Skp2, Ezrin proteins were negatively expressed in 10 cases of acoustic neuromas and 1 case of normal cerebellar tissue, while PCNA, Skp2, Ezrin immunoreactivity was found in 51 cases medulloblastoma tissues. The positive rates in medulloblastoma were 100.0% (PCNA), (30.8% (Skp2) and 90.2 % (Ezrin). (2) There were high expression of PCNA, Skp2, Ezrin proteins in medulloblastoma tissues. (3) Correlation analysis indicated that expression of Skp2 and...
