Objective: To observe the effect of Huang-Bai soup on reduction of pain , bleeding , edema secretion after operation of mixed hemorrhoids of damp-heat pouring downward syndromeMethods: It is a randoinized control study with 30 patients in treatment group and 30 patients in control group. The treatment group started the treatment with Huang-bai soup one day after operation and the treatment period was 7 days. For the control group, started the treatment with piles-sore slice with four slices thrice everyday after operation and the treatment period was seven days, also. At the same time, a routine treatment was provided before and after the operation between the treatment group and the control group . Evaluation criteria include score of symptoms and dosage of antalgica in two day , four day, six day after operation and after a course of treatment of total score of all symptoms. Results: After treatment, all of the score of each symptom and total score of all symptoms are significantly lower than control group. 36.7% patients in the treatment group have ever used antalgics, and this proportion issignificantly lower than 63. 3%, which was that of control group, The dosage of antalgica in treatment group also significantly lower than the control group. Huang-bai soup can alleviate significantly postoperative pain and edema, and relieved wound blood exudation, in two day , four day, six day after operation. There is no obviously side effect and no marked change of blood routin and liver-kindey merit in treatment group and control group.
