| ObjectiveTo explore the epidemiologic and clinical characteristics, complications and prognosis of erythroderma and assess the utility of measurement of laboratory parameters in the diagnosis to establish deep conception on the truth of the disease and guide the clinical therapy in order to improve the prognosis. MethodsClinical data of the 120 hospitalized erythroderma patients during 1996.1 to 2005. 12 in QiLu Hospital were retrospectively investigated including age, sex, duration of the disease, previous history, clinical manifestation, laboratory investigation, biopsy result, systemic damage, infection complication, therapeutic effect and the cause of the death. We also analyzed follow-up information from 94 patients. All available data are dealt with by statistical analysis. Results1. Epidemiologic data: Of the 120 patients, 84 were male and 36 were female. Men outnumbered women in a proportion of 2. 33:1.
