Objective: To investigate the levels of serum , the morphologic changes of the liver and the expressions of ICAM - 1 of the rats in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy for Qing dan bu shen Tang(QDBST),based on TCM, modern medicine theory. Methods: Animals and groups: Sixty Wister rats which twelve days pregant were randomly divided into six groups: normal group, model group, QDBST lowest group, QDBST moderate group , QDBST maxim group and Dexamethasone control group. Methods of administration and treatment: every group were administered EE at a dose of 2.5mg·kg-1·d-1 for 5 days in muscle besides observed group for pregnant rats which twelve days. QDBST lowest group, QDBST moderate group , QDBST maxim group and Dexamethasone control group were to be administered at a dose of 1ml/100g of 100%. 50%, 25% QDBST mixture, Dex group at a dose of 0.1mg/100g under skin .Separation and detection methods: After the first day for delivery, took blood 3ml to measure the change of ALT, AST, ALP, TBIL, DBIL, TBA .put cats to death by stretch neck, catch liver compents by HE staining, observed the morphologic changes of the liver of the rats under light microscope . Statiscal method: t -testResults: ① Compared with the normal group, The levels of serum ALT, AST, TBA, TBIL and ALP were significantly higher in the model group (P<0.01). ②Compared with the normal group, every the levels of serum was insignificantly in QDBST moderate group , QDBST maxim group ( p > 0.05).③Compared with the normal group, The levels of serum ALT, AST, TBA,TBIL and ALP were significantly higher in the QDBST lowest group (P<0.01, p < 0.05). ④Compared with the model group, The levels of serum ALT, AST, TBA, and ALP were significantly higher in the QDBST moderate group, QDBST maxim group and QDBST lowest group (P<0.01).⑤Compared with the Dexamethasone group, the levels of serum TBA,TBIL,DBIL and ALP was insignificantly in QDBST moderate group (p > 0.05), the levels of serum AST. ALT was significantly lower in QDBST moderate group(P<0.01). ⑥There was found intrahepatic cholestasis in the model group under light microscope, there was not found in the others groups.⑦Compared with the normal group with QDBST moderate group, The expressions of ICAM- 1 on the cell of liver, hepatic vein endothelial cell and common bile duct endothelial cell were significantly higher in the model group (P<0.01).
