Objective:To compare the therapeutic effectiveness of lumbar spondylolisthesis treated by single threaded fusion cage and posterior intervertebral bone grafting fusion combined with pedicle screw fixation. Methods:From January 1999 to December 2003, 77 patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis were retrospected.Among them, there were isthmic spondylolisthesis(37 cases),lumbar degenerative spondylolisthesis(35 cases), lumbar traumatic spondylolisthesis(2 cases), post-laminectomy lumbar spondylolisthesis(3 cases). All the patients were divided into two groups—group A,group B.Twenty-six patients in group A were treated with PLIF using threaded fusion cage(TFC) with transpedicular screw-rod fixation.Fifty-one patients were treated with pedicle screw-rod fixation combined with posterior approach intervertebral bone grafting,The slippage rate, reduction rate, intervertebral height,JOA score, fusion rate of bone grafting and complications were observed respectively and compared between the two groups. Results:The follow-up period of each case was more than one year and 10 months, with an average of 33 months.Based on the criteria of JOA score, the recovery rate was 53.8% on an average in group A,78.4% in group B.There was statistically a significant difference of recovery rate between group A and group... |
