Objective: The study is to identify and quantify these kinds of predictors of ovarian reserve and the IVF outcome through comparisons among the female age, the basal levels of the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), the follicle stimulating hormone/ luteinizing hormone ratio (FSH/LH), estradiol (E2) in serum, CC induced FSH in serum following Clomiphene Citrate Challenge Test, the basal serum follicle stimulating hormone concentrations following the pituitary suppression cycle, the mean ovarian volume (MOV) and the antral follicle counts (AFC) by ultrasound of women who had undergone IVF-ET. To select the better predictors to guide therapy in IVF. Methods: Retrospective study included sixty women who had undergone IVF-ET in the First Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from Jun 2005 to Mar 2006. The range of the patients' age was 26-40 years. They have regular menstrual cycles (25-35 days) and had undergone the first COH cycle. They had been infertile between 1 and 15 years. The causes of infertility included fallopian tubal factor, male factor and unexplained infertility. Laboratory Analysis:(1) The hormones including FSH, LH and E2 of cycle day 2-3 serum sample were measured by CCES. (2)From cycle day 5 to day 9 , they were administered clomiphene citrate 100 mg per day . The follicle stimulating hormone concentrations of cycle day 10 serum samples were measured by CCES. (3) CCES measured the basal serum follicle stimulating hormone concentrations following the pituitary suppression cycle before the administration of gonadotropins. (4) Ultrasound measurement:The...
