Effect Of Phacoemulsification On Corneal Endothelium Of Differ Cataract Applying Anterior Chamber Maintainer

Someone introduced the use of anterior chamber maintainer(ACM) in 1980. Making use of the ACM was extensive in Israel, American ,Canada and Turkey. With the improvement of technic of cataract,the wide-incision turned into small-incision, the open system changed into relative closed system , the anterior chamber maintainer was made the good use. The intraocular pressure and anterior chamber were stable. Someone posed the continuous anterior chamber infusion damaged the tissue. They thought the ACM was no safe to the phaocoemulsification.Objective: To evaluate the effect of different phaocoemulsification on corneal endothelium applying anterior chamber maintainer.Methods: Phacoemulsification allied folded intraocular lens implantation were perfected on 53 patients (61 eyes) which were divided there groups(simply Age-related cataract group,diabet group,glaucoma group). Anterior chamber maintainer was applied in each surgery. The endothelial cell density were determined with non-contact specular microscopy one day preoperatively and one month postoperatively.Results: The endothelial cell density was decreased after operation.There was no significant difference after statistical treatment in the simply Age-related cataract group between one day preoperatively and one month postoperatively. There were significant difference between Age-related cataract group and diabet group,glaucoma group one month postoperatively (P<0.05).Conclusion: Corneal endothelium cells are not easier to be damaged in phacoemulsification applying anterior chamber maintainer than without it,...
