The Expression Of Neuropilin-1 In Gastric Carcinoma And Its Role In Gastric Carcinoma Angiogenesis

Objective To investigate the expression of neuropilin-1 in gastric carcinoma,its role in tumor angiogenesis and the mechanism of interaction between neuropilin-1 and VEGF.Methods Steptative-peroxidase-biotin immunohistochemistry technique was used to detect the expression of neuropilin-1,VEGF and MVD(labled by CD34) in sixty gastric carcinoma specimens,sixty gatric mucosa membrane adjacent tumor specimens,thirty normal gastric mucosa membrane specimens. SPSS10.0 statistical package was used to analyze the relationship between the expression of neuropilin-1,VEGF,MVD and the clinicopathological festures in gastric carcinoma.Results (1) The positive expression rate of neuropilin-1 in gastric carcinoma(71.67%) was significantly higher than in mucosa membrane adjacent tumor(31.67%) and in normal gastric mucosa membrane(0%()P<0.01,P<0.01);The positive expression rate of neuropilin-1 in mucosa membrane adjacent tumor was higher than in normal gastric mucosa membrane(0%)(P<0.01). (2) The expression of neuropilin-1 in gastric carcinoma was significantly correlated with TNM stages,lymph node metastasis,infiltration depth , distant metastasis ( P<0.05 ) ; but without age,gender,tumor size,tumor location,differentiation, histological type(P>0.05).(3)There was a positive correlation between the positive expression of neuropilin-1 and VEGF in sixty gastric carcinoma specimens(r=0.443,P<0.05).(4)MVD(35.82±9.79)in neuropilin-1(+) gastric carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in neuropilin-1(-) group(26.91±5.70)(P<0.01); MVD(36.36±9.47)in both neuropilin-1(+) and VEGF(+) groups was significantly higher than that in both...
