Objective: the dog heart-lung transplant model was used to investigate the effect of conti- nuous low flow perfusion(LFP) and interrupted perfusion(IP) on the lung preservation.Methods:twenty-four healthy dogs were randomly divided into continuous low flow perfu- sion(LFP) group and interrupted perfusion(IP) group. Each is divided into 6 randomly. During preservation, The LDP were perfused through pulmonary artery at continuous low flow perfus- ion (LFP) or interrupted perfusion(IP). After keeping 2 hours, take the lung tissues to measure the content of ATP in the cell.Then carry on the heart-lung consociation transplantation.15 minutes after the heart lung-transplanted, to judge the lung function we take the lung vein blood for measuring PaO2 and PaCO2. After finishing the trial,the contents of MDA and SOD in lung were measured,At the same time, we carry on the observation of the super microstructural.Results: 2 hours after the lung preserved, the content of ATP in the cell at continuous low flow perfusion(LFP) is higher than at the interrupted perfusion (IP)(P<0.05). 15 minutes after the heart-lung transplanted, PaO2 in the lung vein at continuous low flow perfusion(LFP) is obvious high(P<0.05).But PaCO2 is not separate(P>0.05).There were significant difference in the content of SOD, MDA(P<0.05).The pathology changes at the interrupted perfusion (IP) were more significant in super microstructural observation.Conclusion: Continuous low flow perfusion(LFP) in maintaining the energy storage in the cell, the lung function after reperfusion, anti- oxygen free radicals and super microstructural observation were superior to the interrupted perfusion (IP).It will be advantage to the quantity of the donor lung in combined heart-lung trans- plantation. It will have certain reference value to the clinical lung preservation.
