Objectives: Cerebral vascular disease (CVD) is one of three diseases that are severely harmful to the human. With the progress in early diagnosis technique and early therapy to CVD, the mortality due to CVD decreased, however, the limbs and intelligent handicaps caused by CVD is increased, cerebral infarction(CI) is ischemic stroke including cerbral thrombosis lacunar infarction cerebral embolism, which is one kind of brain tissue ischemic necrosis or cerebromalacia because of ischemia and oxygen deficiency. CI is seriously harming physical and mental health of the elderly, as well as a heavy load to the society and the family, so the prevention and therapy to CI is increasingly attended. At present, the pathogenesis of CI can't be fully explained, and Tongxinluo capsule which can promoting blood flow and remove blood stasis, were widely treated in ischemic stroke, however, the pharmacological mechanism of treating CI were still in discussion. MMP-9 is considered as a important enzyme associated with degradating extracellular matrix. Recent study suggests that MMPs breakdown blood brain barrier and promote to form brain edema infiltration of inflammatory cell...
