Objective: To investigate the effects of ginkgo biloba on the progression of renal interstitial fibrosis following un ilateral ureteral obstruetin (UUO) and the mechanism, and s urvey the changes of transformirg growth factor- β1,(TGF-β1,) nuclear Factor— κB(NF- κB)and α -smooth muscle ac tin( α -SMA)in renal. Methods: Seventy-five rats, clean animal grade, which w ere made into UUO model were randomly divided into fi ve groups: A group was sham group ,B group was UUO group,C group was enalapril treatment group,D group was ginkgo biloba treatment group ,E group was enalapril and ginkgo biloba treatment group.Rats were sacrificed on the 3th day ,7th day and 14th day after,UUO operations.HE an d MASSON stains were used to observe the pathological c hanges ofobstructed renal.Immunohistochemvstry was used t o measure the expression of TGF-β1, NF-κ B and α -SMA , then calculated the positive area ratio .the contents of hydr oxyproline in renal were measured , and the contents of c ollagen were calculated, then the rates of collagen and renal weight were counted .
