| The genus Sonchus is genera of Compositae. There are 50 speciesof genus Sonchus which were found widely in Europe, Africa and Asia. And only 8 species of them widely distribute in China, mainly in thenortheastern, the northwestern and the north China regions. Manyspecies of the genus Sonchus have long been used as folk medicine inmany countries and nations, such as Sonchus oleraceus, Sonchusarvensis and Sonchus brachyotus. They have been used as traditionalChinese folk medicine for antithepatitits, anti-inflammatory,detoxication, pain-relief and curing snake-bite and dysentery as wellas the roots and flowers and seeds of Sonchus brachyotus. In thisthesis, we reported systematically phytochemical studies collectedfrom Changchun suburban of China. Seven compounds were isolatedfrom the EtOH extract of petroleum ether,CHCl3, EtOAc, andn-BuOH extract from the dried aerial parts of Sonchus brachyotus bymeans of silica gel column chromatography ,thin layer chromatographyand recrystalization etc. Four of them were identified on the basis ofmodern spectroscopic methods (IR, UV,1H-NMR,13C-NMR andESI-MS) and along with comparison to authentic samples or the datafrom literatures. B1 was identified as β-sitosterol,B2 as Luteolin,B3 asApigenin,B4 as Quercetin。The worldwide study of Sonchus is just unfolding in the pastdecades, and many significant bioactive sesquiterpenes and flavonoidswere found. So the progress about the chemical constituents and thebiological acticity of Sonchus has been reviewed in this thesis. The results will provide scientific basic for the research onbioactive chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine, would be helpful for screening new national medicines and maybenefit for utilizing the natural resources of China. |
