Background and Objective:Cataract extraction and ocular lens implantation is the effective method that can recover visual function of cataract patient. Bacterial endophthalmitis is one of complication of cataract surgery. It will badly affect the visual acuity and even result in disastrous sequent. Therefore it is concerned all the time by ophthalmologists in the prevention of bacterial endophthalmitis. At present , many scholars hold that bacterial flora in endophthalmitis root in patient conjunctival sac. Because scholars have discoved that the bacterial flora in patient conjunctival sac before cataract surgery is correspondence with that of endophthalmitis.By the reason of this, the preparation of conjunctival sac before cataract surgery must be sterile. With regard to the report of bacterial distribution in conjunctival sac and its relative factors, the result is multifarious. Therefore it is very important that familiar bacterial flora and sensitive drugs in local region are identified and the relative factors on conjunctival flora are investigated in the preparation of conjunctival sac before cataract surgery. In addition,Kurt et al apply Povedone-iodone in the preparation of eye before cataract surgery.Their clinical experience have conformed that it is valuable in prevention of bacterial endophthalmitis. But their study is descriptive survey and not prospective random control test. In this study, the conjunctival specimens are culcured and microbial sensitivity test are done before cataract surgery so as to indentify the bacterial distribution characteristic and sensitive drugs. The results were compared with the same kind investigation in the same region in 1996 so as to find out its historic transformation. The references about bacterial culture of conjunctival sac during 1992 to 2004 were reviewed and analyzed synthetically and those have relative factor studies were analyzed by Meta-analysis. In our own data, we use univareate analysis to analyze the potential effective factors and then introduce the remarkable factors to the multivariate Logistic regression analysis to expore the stable factors which is related with bacterial existence of conjunctival...
