BackgroundGlucocorticosteroid-induced glaucoma is a medicine complication relating to multiple factors induced by the use of glucocorticoid in system or in eye drop, and its clinical manifestations are similar to that of primary open-angle glaucoma. It often occurs in the patients mid/highly reacting to glucocorticoid. Present research demonstrated that:(1) elevation of ocular pressure was directly connected with the kind of glucocorticoid and its concentration and also the time of its use;(2) glucocorticoid inducing ocular hypertension may relate to heredity, ocular local histological changes, biochemistry, cytobiology and molecular biology;(3) glucocorticoid induced ocular hypertension mainly through increasing the flow resistance of aqueous humor. Up to no , the mechanism underlying glucocorticosteroid-induced glaucoma remains unclear.Retinal detachment is a common disease in ophthalmological clinics, and the only effective treatment to it is surgery. The use of glucocorticoid systematically or topically in eye pre-operation or post-operation plays an important role in promoting the absorption of fluid under retina, releaving the inflammation reaction after surgery and improve the effect of surgery. Glucocorticoid becomes gradually the routine drugs applied pre- or post- vitreoretinal surgery, and sometimes we have to use it with a large dosage for a long time regard to the state of illness. Glucocorticosteroid-induced glaucoma is a severe complication after the use of glucocorticoid with a large dosage for a long time, and is one of the main reasons of re-blindness after vitreoretinal surgery.Based on the cases of vitreoretinal surgery, we discussed the risk factors of corticosteroid-induced ocular hypertension and/or glaucoma, in order to provide evidence for the clinical forecast and prevention of the disease.Objective1,Review and analyze Chinese and English literatures on the relevant factors of...
