Objective:To explore the influence of Curcuma longa on experimental duodenal ulcer and serum epidermal growth factor levels in rats. Methods:The experimental duodenal ulcer modle were set up, by Cysteamine and the injury index and the level of serum epidermal grouth factor were measured by diriding them into two groups in random. Results:It was found that the experimental group (Curcuma Longa for a week) reduced markably (6.34±3.53mm) in comparison with that of control group (12.16±3.83mm) (water for a week) (P<0.05).The serum level in experimental group was significantly higher (264.31±50.83pg/ml) than that of control group (152.17±66.26pg/ml) (P<0.05).Conclusion:The results suggest that Curcuma Longa have good effect on treatment of duodenal ulcer and it can increase the level of EGF in serum.
