AIM:To study the effects and related mechanism of complex prescription Qishenjiangzhiyin on the rat model of artherosclerosis.METHODS:Twenty-four male SD rats were randomly and equally divided into control group(fed with normal diet),model group(fed with high cholesterol diet), and treatment group(fed with high cholesterol diet plus complex prescription Qishenjiangzhiyin); There are eight rats in every group. Eight weeks later, blood was collected. Blood-fat level,serum malondialdehyde(MDA) concentrations and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity were measured. SD rats were killed and the aortas were collected for histomorphology studies. The intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) expression of aorta was measured by immunohistochemistry and Western blot.
