Class â…¡ malocclusion was common in clinic. Many researchers had investigated the structures of Class â…¡ malocclusion , but their conclusions were not identical. The conventional cephalometric analysis (CCA) and univariate statistics were overused . The development of statistical methods and the application of geometric morphometric methods could make researchers to quantitative describe of morphological shape.Form was the combination of size and shape.The research , separating shape from size , was complex and possible by using Procrustes superimposion. EDMA quantitatively analysed shape change using the ratios of form-difference matrix. TPS produced a visually appealing representation of the morphological change between the forms.Part 1 This part investigated the techniques currently available for the analysis of cephalograms , their principle , contents and advantages .The softwares about morphometries were demonstrated for the next researches.
