Follicle-stimulating-hormone (FSH) is a glycoprotein genesial hormone which was secreted by basophilic cell of anterior pituitary, it was composed of α and β subunits; its secretion controlled by gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), The FSH through blood circulation affects sexual gland, and plays an important role in the production of sex hormone and reproduction. Follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) is a G-protein-coupled receptor, which is mainly expressed on sertoli cells of the testis and granular cells of ovary. It has a large extracellular doman at N-terminal to combine with FSH..But with increasing of medical research,FSH and its receptor have been found in other tissues besides pituitary—sexual gland axle, for example in pancreas, and regulate them.
