Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignancies throughout the world, especially in East Asia countries such as China. With the research development in oncology, more and more evidences have established that carcinogenesis of gastric mucosa displays multiple genetic alterations including activation of oncogenes, inactivation of tumor suppressor genes, errors in DNA replication, and so on. So far, the therapies of gastric cancer are not satisfactory. The extent of metastasis is the major prognostic factor. Rho family plays an important role in almost all the foundational vital movements of cells. Accumulating researches reveal that Rho family proteins are expressed abnormally in many kinds of cancers and are related to the degree of malignancy. These indicated that Rho small GTPases might play an important role in the carcinogenesis and progression of cancer.
