Immunophenotypic And Cytogenetic Characteristics Of The Blast Crisis In Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Objective To characterize the immunophenotype and cytogenetics ofchronic myeloid leukemia blast crisis (CML-BC).Methods1. Immunophenotypic analysis was performed using a panel of monoclonal antibodies and three/four-color immunofluorescence staining methods of flow cytometry in patients with CML in BC. Fifty-eight cases were summarized and comparison was performed with CML-BC and 420 acute leukemia (AL) patients during the same period.2. Karyotype analysis was performed with R-banding technique in 119 patients with CML-BC. Multiplex fluorescence in situ hybridization (M-FISH) was used in 22 CML-BC patients with complex chromosomal aberrations (CCAs) detected by R-banding to refine complex chromosomal rearrangements, the constitution of marker chromosomes, and to identify cryptic translocations.Results1.
